Gradall Industries Endorses 'I Make America' Campaign

NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH – Gradall Industries, Inc., has endorsed the efforts of the 'I Make America' campaign, launched to broaden awareness of the needs of American manufacturers and press for support from the U.S. Congress.

Gradall and other manufactures are asking employees, customers, suppliers and the general public to express their own support by signing up on the 'I Make America' web site: www.IMakeAmerica.com

"This effort was launched by the AEM (Association of Equipment Manufacturers) to help us advance policies in Washington, D.C., that we believe will help revitalize the U.S. economy, make America more competitive globally and to help create and protect American jobs," said Mike Haberman, president of Gradall Industries, headquartered in New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Gradall is the only hydraulic excavator made only in America – designed, manufactured, sold and supported at the same New Philadelphia location for over 60 years. Gradall Industries, wholly owed by the Alamo Group, also manufactures Vacall sewer maintenance and sweeper machines, metal mill maintenance equipment, firefighting apparatus and components for several other construction equipment companies.

"Infrastructure investment is critical to the competitiveness and prosperity of the equipment manufacturing industry and to our entire economy as a whole," said Haberman. "It creates demand for our products and those of our suppliers, ensuring we can get our products to market quickly and efficiently, and building strong communities."

"Congress has made some progress by passing a two-year highway bill that invests in rebuilding and modernizing America's infrastructure," he continued. "But unfortunately, it is far from enough. We must encourage Congress to continue to invest in infrastructure, and work towards a long-term, well-funded highway bill that presents a strong, strategic vision for America’s future."

In addition to urging employees and others to go to the web site and signal their support, Gradall is posting the "I Make America" logo on its web sites and advertising materials.

AEM membership includes more than 870 companies involved in the manufacture of building products used in construction, agriculture, forestry, mining and utility industries.

"The American manufacturing sector has lost 4.7 million jobs in the last decade, and though things are looking up, economic conditions remain challenging," said Gradall's president. "Manufacturers like Gradall cannot substantially grow, hire and expand their businesses in the U.S. unless policy makers in Washington, D.C., continue to take action on important pro-manufacturing legislation."
